Had a blast photographing Kandie & Toine this past week. They let me wait until the light was just perfect for these shots...and I do have to say...good things come to those who wait. Had a blast photographing the Tarbet's family session recently. It was a surprise birthday gift for mom/grandma. Can't think of a better idea. I met the the Tarbet's a couple of years back when I was photographing their sister Katie's wedding at the Ojai Vally Inn and Spa. Am thrilled I have been able to watch this family grow. I can't wait for our Christmas session! Happy birthday!!

When I was going off to college my parents got me a little painting of a beautiful tree that said 'bloom where you are planted'. I still have it hanging in my kitchen and it is one of the most beloved things I have. I take it to heart. When I met Angie at a coffee shop in downtown, I thought she just might too. This was a small intimate wedding that was absolutely brimming with love. The kind of love that had me grinning from ear to ear the entire time I was around them. It was this kind of contagious happiness. The ceremony took place in their backyard, which is a secret garden unto itself. It was a perfect representation of them. Beautiful, and full of love. It had me thinking about that painting. It was obvious that they knew just what the saying meant.

I apologize for the lack of entries over the past month, but thankfully it is because I have been extremely busy! So, I can't complain, but I do feel badly that you haven't been able to see all the fantastic people I have had the pleasure of photographing.

I promise to work hard to update you after the New Year! I have a ton of entries that I want to do, so we'll see how many I can get up. Cross your fingers for me.

There is something about these two that says both old and new love. By new, I mean that free spirited, energetic way a couple is when they are together. The laughter and twinkle they bring to each others eye. Then there is old love. The quiet kind. The kind of love that settles the soul after a tough day. When I first met these two, I thought I had it all figured out. This was new love. They were so playful, excited and ready to celebrate. I knew it was going to be an amazingly fun wedding (which it SO was)! It was not until the moment Ashley walked down the aisle that I realized these two have the best of both worlds. They have that old love too. There was this whole other side to them I had not seen before. The way they looked at each other as she came down the aisle. It was as if it was just the two of them. And when they said those magical vows, I knew just what a special couple this was.

I tip my glass to love and to you, Ashley & Scott, we had such a wonderful time on your wedding day!

I can't tell you how thrilled I was to shoot this wedding. Jim & Cory are such a cool couple. They were totally into my ideas and let me "play". Plus they had the coolest family and friends. These two were so down to earth, and knew how to celebrate in style. Cory made planning this wedding look effortless, and was a STUNNING bride. I love this family! I have been photographing them Since Mary was pregnant with Eden! We had the best time at Alice Keck Park, looking at the turtles and playing in the tree's. As you can see Eden is gorgeous and gonna be quite the heart breaker, and Bode is just plain hysterical. He got us all rolling with his many, and I mean many silly faces. What a wonderful afternoon we had! Can't wait to see the card, Mary!

Brian and I got to go down to Sherman Oaks and photograph the coolest family! I have known the Harris's since their wedding a "couple" years back, and have been photographing them since! It was Lillian's second b-day (the day before the shoot). Can you say Dora was in the house. Everyone with children (or anyone who photographs them) knows Ms. Dora. From sinful Dora cookies (where the frosting is just as thick as the cookie) to the balloons. Too much fun! We also got a little time with Lillian's little brother Weston, who is just 6 months old. He is the sweetest baby and loves to smile. We had such a nice time catching up with everyone. I can't tell you what joy it brings me to be able to watch their family grow. As usual...I have the greatest job on earth. Happy b-day Lillian!

Diana & Len's Wedding

I love these two! Ok, first I must take a moment and say it has finally happened....it rained. There....it's out in the open. I have had the most amazing weather luck until last weekend. Yes, it rained. BUT...it cleared up quickly and turned into a fabulous afternoon...so I am not counting this freak occurrence. Thank goodness I was with these two adventurous souls. We had 15 min. to get the shots and it was raining...but that did not stop us. I'm sure we were a sight, with Brian holding the reflector over my camera, and my beautiful bride and groom getting a bit wet. Anyway, the day turned out amazing. The ceremony was incredibly touching and then it was off to the reception at their home which overlooks the ocean. Best view in town. I am thrilled we got to be a part of such a special day. I know the romance could never burn out with these two. Cheers Diana & Len!

What a fun shoot! These two kids are beautiful....am I right, or am I right? Heck, the whole family is stunning and they all have those amazing eyes. We had such a fun play date with the Spang's at both their home and the park. I shot extra because I really did not want to leave. It took every ounce of my being and a gentle tug from my better half not to snatch these two up in my arms and claim them as my own. Thanks Spang's for a lovely Sunday morning.

Spent a lovely evening with Diana & Len last week! These two just ooooooze romance. Everything they seemed to do on the shoot just screamed at me how much they love each other....right down to a private violin serenade Len did for Diana. I had so much fun just watching them. From the softest kisses they shared to their silly sides which got the other one cracking up. This shoot brought so much joy to Brian and I. I can't wait for their big day....which is RIGHT around the corner. Cheers you two! We can't wait!

I had the mouth watering pleasure of photographing some brand spakin' new items on the DoubleTree's menu. Probably the hardest shoot ever...as I was starving when I showed up! I drooled the whole way through. So if you have a wedding coming up...know they have added some AMAZING things to their already impressive list. Now, I am hungry again. I am hoping I have willed some magical dish to appear in my fridge. Will let you know what I find! :)

What an amazing couple. Kristen and Kevin were married at the beautiful Biltmore. We had such a great time with them. I could have posted about 2000 more shots, as these 2 don't take a bad photo. Seriously...look at them. I got to work with the ever talent Mary Anne of MAK events who is a blast and amazing! The place was gorgeous, the bride stunning, and the groom was adorable to watch (sorry Kevin...its true...the way you are with Kristen is adorable). He kissed his beautiful brides hand about a 1000 times, and each time he did it, it seemed to mean more than the last. Congrats you two!

What an amazing day! Shannon & David were married at the Fess Parkers DoubleTree resort. Couldn't have a better backdrop for their beach wedding. Jessica from Bijoux Events, along with Shannon and David created a magical feel in the plaza.
Salt water taffy was waiting for each guest, as was an amazing night of dancing.
This crowd could really break it down on the dance floor!

Whew! We had 2 beautiful weddings this past weekend, and thankfully the weather cooperated! Friday's wedding was all outside, and I swear both me and Michelle (the beautiful bride) were checking weather.com every other hour to see if the forecast had changed. Expecting showers Michelle got a beautiful parasol just in case. We arrived at the DoubleTree and like magic the sky cleared. I do have to say I have amazing luck with weather and it has not rained on me yet....now knock on wood....seriously...knock on wood! Congrats to both my wonderful couples, Michelle & Patrick and Melissa & Mario. I can't think of a better way to spend my weekends....

We were thrilled when we got the call from Exquisite Weddings wanting to feature one of our weddings from last year. Christen and Adam were married at Firestone Vineyard and had the most gorgeous set up in the barrel room. The flowers, food, music, and location made this one of the most romantic evenings. Can you tell how much I love chocolate? I ask you what girl doesn't? We entered a contest put on by my wonderful lab Specialty Color Services called "photograph your love". It was an amazing contest with over 1,900 submissions....and we were a finalist! Of course I had to use this photo as it's no secret how much I love chocolate. And I love chocolate fountains even more. Had I not been shooting, I would have followed this little girls lead!
I think she and I are cut from the same fabric!

I took this photo in Turkey at the Suleiman Mosque. It was a rainy day, but one of my favorite memories from Istanbul. We dodged in and out of the rain stumbling into tiny cafes drinking the strongest and sludgiest coffee known to man, went from mosque to mosque...listening to their prayers over a loud speaker. Truly a magical city.

I want to take a moment and thank all of my friends, family, and clients for the fun times I have had this year and for all the love and support. I feel truly blessed for the many great opportunities and experiences this year has brought. It was packed with so many new things and I would have never guessed where the road was going to lead. Thoughts and Prayers for Carla & Lance

I met Carla and Lance last year and had the honor of photographing their wedding. They are truly beautiful people. We just got the terrible news that they were caught in the recent fires that swept through Santa Barbara and have been placed in a burn unit, where they’re in critical-but-stable condition. Their home has been completely destroyed in the blaze as well, leaving them in pretty dire straits. More than anything, once they’re out of the hospital, they’re going to need money to get back on their feet again. It is so important that our community pull together in such difficult times. I know many wonderful people who have lost a lot in this fire. Let's do the best we can to help them.
